Default British Legion, Essex EAA shield, help please?

Hi guys,

I picked this badge up on Ebay.

Could anybody tell me what Essex ''EAA'' stands for, please? Also, who would have worn this badge and on what?

It measures 34mm by 46mm.

Thanks in advance,

Phil

Phil, this is a cross belt badge that is used to carry the standard. There are versions for both the men & women's section standard bearers. But what the inscription "Essex EAA" stands for I don't know. Have you tried to contact the Essex County branch to see if they can shed some light on it??
I wish you luck.

Greetings Phil.

How about East Anglian Association or Associates.

Or you may just swerve around that one instead of crashing into it.

Well, I haven't found a solution to the puzzle. I did email the Essex County HQ of the RBL but as yet I have no reply, I guess they do have more important things to do than prioritising an ID enquiry

I will let everybody know when I find out.

Phil

Hi,

For those members who are interested, I never received a reply from Essex RBL, I am guessing that, after all this time, I won't be getting one.

Cheers,

Phil

Phil. This could have been modified for a sporting trophy/shield/etc centre piece. So it could be Essex amateur athletics, Eastern etc or a legion branch beginning with E
Only a thought. Have you tried going to a Legion branch, A larger one say Romford, Clacton??

I wasn't sure if they would mind me rocking up and asking questions. I think its worth a go though.

Mike could have hit the nail on the head.

Cheers
