Royal Marine Artillery
IMG_0491.jpg.
First time user so please excuse any errors etc - not sure of the picture has attached. I am sorting through a collection of badges and in the Marines section I have come across this grenade. It is seems to be the RMA style, it is 55mm high with two lugs and has been gilt. Is this an officers collar or cap. Or am I completely off the mark? |

It looks like the grenade part of a RMA sergeants badge worn 1892-1923, apart from the size (EC Coleman V2. page 59). Could be a collar badge for said rank and period?

Thanks, don't think I have the book you refer to. What is the other part?

The Globe and Laurels. The grenade is attached to this at it's base and sides.
The book is Rank & Rate Volume 2. |

definately not been attached to any thing else; has the quality of officers item, but could be senior NCO's.

Hi Harry
The badge was worn on a RMA officers blue Field Service cap, which was a side hat. John |

Dear Stonehouse Boy
Many thanks, my gut feeling was that is was an officers cap badge. The lugs are a bit longer which fits in perfectly with it being for a field service cap. |
