Default Lance Pennon for ID?

Hi All

This was owned by Col F G Blair CB, he was the last Colonel of the "PAOLYC" (before it became "Imperial") and commanded the 4th IY Btn in the 2nd Boer War.

His previous service was :-

1. Ayreshire Yeo
2. 14th Hussars (Briefly....I think?)
3. 16th Lancers
4. PAO Leics Yeo Cav

The Lance pennon appears to have "XVIII" under the red saltire? Can anyone identify it?
