Default Royal Marines Police Buttonhole Badge 1939-45

Here is one of the many buttonhole badges issued during the 1939-45 war,
this badge was worn by the Royal Marines Police when in civilian clothes.
At a time of air raids when civilians should be in shelters this type of badge
would give the Civil Police and Air Raid Wardens a first identification that the wearer was a member of the armed forces.
The badge is in nickel silver with a stud fixing at the back and marked Firmin London.
