Hi Folks
Hello, I'm a new member, and I am interested primarily in two collecting areas. Those are Canadian Cap Badges and Shoulder Titles and British Cap Badges, both WWII era. I also am collecting items associated with the West Kent Yeomanry, as my Great-Grandfather served with that Regiment before immigrating to the U.S.. Being new to the hobby, any help getting started or suggestions on reference books would be very helpful. I'm always willing to chat about anything relating to US Airborne, as I served with the 82nd, and have a number of books on unit history, etc... for those collecting items related to that topic.
Regards, Eric |

Hi Eric.
Welcome to the forum, and don't be afraid to ask your questions. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience here, which is to the benefit of all. I'm just sorry I can't contribute more with my limited collecting knowledge. |

Welcome aboard
Hello Eric: Welcome aboard! Plenty of knowledge on this website concerning your areas of collecting. As for reference books I would recommend Daniel Mazeas's " Canadian Badges, 1920-50" and Chris Booker's "Canadian Cap Badges of World War II". Occasionally these books show up on e-Bay. Pick an area you are especially interested in, such as infantry, artillery or armoured, and stick to it. Very few of us can afford being generalists.
Cheers. Moe. |
