Default 4th Vol Batt CHESHIRE Regt

Hi,
I've found this badge but i'm not sure of it. I didn't saw a badge like this in the forum... Is it normal to find a slider on this type of badge?
Could you give me your opinion, please?
Cheers
Loïc

It is normal for the standard badge. Why is this one 4VB? Its there an overlaid scroll on the front?

I can only see 2 images of the back.

Nice early long slider with a crimp. Patina and strike look good for an early badge too. I cannot see a braze hold behind the acorn as I would expect on an early example so assume this is an all WM badge?

Interestingly I can see what appears to be silvery braze (seen on some Victorian badges) where the star tips join the scroll where. Wonder if this has been done to strengthen the badge or the scroll’s been reattached.

Nice to see.

My great uncle was in 1/4 Cheshires when killed in action near Ypres, in October 1918.

The badge is an original badge from c. 1905 - 1908.
