The inner shape of the shield is reminiscent of the shape of the sign of US 36 (Texas) Inf Div. But the style of manufacture is distinctly "un-American". Mike

It's from Denmark; Jylland (Jutland) Dragoon Rgt, 1st Recce Sqn. Nice old patch and probably made by the Emblex company, like so many other of the Danish woven ones

Here is what it looks like when the edges are not folded and also one of the latest variations, these days all the Danish patches are round
