RNAS arm badge on WW2 Rating
I am a little puzzled by this photo of a naval potential officer of the World War Two era.
He wears a "Canada" title but without a lettered cap tally it's not certain if he is a Royal Canadian Navy rating or a Canadian serving with the RN. On his cuff he has the letters "RNAS" which presumably stand for Royal Naval Air Service but by WW2 that was an obsolete name for what had become the Fleet Air Arm. Can anyone shed more light on this strange mixture of badges? Jon |

Jon,
It looks like RHAS to me. Does that mean anything? regards

The angle of the arm makes it look like an H but it is definitely an N.

Could it possibly be: Royal Naval Air Station?
