Boots and saddles,
I don't suppose you will complain about the prices when the time comes to sell your collection. Getting back to the original comments about books being overpriced. A $40 book can save you more than $40 in the long run by arming you with knowledge about what you are buying. I bought the Kipling and King books in the 1970s for £12 when I was only earning £20 per week. Not only have they saved me money on some items that I would have bought. I can still sell them for more than I paid for them. James |

Good point. Sometimes the book becomes a collectable in its own right. At one point first editions of "Distinguishing Patches" were fetching US$150 on e-pay!!! I supose I screwed that market with the release of the 2nd edition.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I am puzzled by the logic here? If a book contains an image of a presumably original rare badge this justifies a high cover price? I do hope no publishers are reading...

Thank you Yeoman, and James my collection will never be for sale, I just don't have any desire to spend 40 dollars to see pictures of some ones collection.Dave I have nothing but good wishes for you also. Cheers Ray

I know the author and will be selling his books here in the shop, the order's on the way. They are a good reference, I don't think at $40 it's priced high, for those who collect in this area a book like this is needed. It's almost like a check list. Books are getting more and more expensive to print & publish.
$40 isn't much, you can spend more on less now a days. Jaime |
