The back of the badge shows that it was actually made like this.
Possibly an error-stricking that got into the system for a while?
Has all the signs & feel of an origional here. Have seen no others (apart from the 2 mentioned),yet & they have obviously been around for a good while ,now.
These 2 examples that I have seen ,show details that indicate they came from the same maker, here.

Thoughts???

Cheers !

Steve,

I have long wondered about that badge in Wilkinson's book and regularly scan dealers' stocks for one. I wonder if it was a TF version - the equivelent of no battlehonour?

Alan ,
many thanks for your reply here.
Found this in a Dealer's 'Spares Box' amongst several other standard varieties, a long while back, now.So it stood out fairly obviously.
The dealer was not aware it was different, so I did'nt tell him.
Like youself ,I was aware of it's existence from Wilkinson's book.
It has a nice 'bending groove' on the slider & the 'Star' is quite 'sharp', in it's style ,here.
I feel you are correct with the reason. The maker's origional mistake here ( Regt's Mottoe not a Battle Honour) & no doubt corrected on later issues, though some obviously survived.

Happy hunting & hope you ,& others ,manage to find one, eventually.

Cheers !
Steve
