Default Sailmaker branch - post 1950 rate badges

In the RCN Sailmakers were part of the Seaman branch. After the 1949–50 changeover to Canadian rate badges Sailmakers kept the same rate badge with the addition of the maple leaf above the rate logo.

However, the rate was being allowed to die out in the RCN & no longer being recruited. By 1955 only 4 pre war Sailmakers remained in the RCN & they were transferred to the Quartermaster branch.

The Sailmaker rate badge is illustrated below.
