Default Combined Operations Cloth Formation Signs

Combined Operations Cloth Formation Signs

A good WWII printed facing pair of “tombstone” shape Combined Ops signs. Lord Louis Mountbatten the Chief of Combined Operations approved the design submitted by Lieutenant DB Grant RNVR, an architect serving with HMS Tormentor, of a Tommy gun representing the Army, an eagle the RAF, and a stockless anchor the Royal Navy. The Army Commandos initially wore the naval “tombstone” design which they soon trimmed to a circle shape.
