Default Dean Close School O T C

Bought these badges today for a small sum at an antique shop near Cheltenham. The OTC badge is missing it's slider, hence just a couple of quid paid. I was staggered to see one on a well known badge site at £80!!
I will now get it re-slidered but is it a rare badge to justify the high price a dealer is asking?? OTC badges are something I know nothing about.
Cheers
John

Bosley’s and affiliated websites are never a good yardstick for price.

£25-35 is a realistic price. Bosleys' default setting for OTC badges seems to be circa £80 and very few of them are worth that. Unfortunately it has encouraged a number of dealers to raise their own prices to take advantage of this perceived rise in value where as in reality I think it is an artificial bubble. Some of the prices recently achieved on eBay are very low even for scarce badges.

Dean Close was a large OTC who were around for 30 years so the badge is worth getting repaired but not rare.
