I've always assumed that it's a wrong 'un, metal does'nt seem bad but the slider seems rather modern & the yellow metal's not very neatly applied.

Well here's mine. Never known what it is and always regarded it as 'iffy.' Different construction to the one above and not maker marked, but it is solid and 'feels' good.

That's the one I've posted, I don't have any evidence one way or the other, but somehow they just don't seem right to me.
