Just a follow up to last night's post. The buttons on the tunic are victorian crowned, pre 1902, but the cadet Corps may have worn them after. Perhaps someone with more cadet knowldge may know.....

Here is a photo of Trooper George Henry Doherty late of Strathcona's Horse during the Boer War......
This photo was taken in 1889 at the age of 15 when he was a cadet in Charlton Place Ontario in full kit..... Mike

Very nice find...I'm jealous. I'd agree, it may be older than you think, even pre-1900 but as anyone who has been involved with cadets knows, old stuff can stick around in the system/supply rooms for a long time.
