UOTC Precedence?
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is any kind of order of precedence for the UOTC's, or is it just 'alphabetical'? Cheers. |

No there is not an official seniority list as the OTCs were mostly set up in the same year of 1908 with some joining a few years after.
The senior Division were mostly formed at the same date in1908 although there have been changes and additions. In the Juniors, Eton may argue that it is one of the most senior due to it's cadet corps' founding date in the 1860s. There was a small expansion of the OTCs in the mid 1930s with war looming and a few more were added. |

It's a few years since I looked through his book
Haig-Brown, AR, 1915, The O.T.C. and the Great War, Country Life, London I rather think there was a list but I don't know / remember if it was an "official" list ! (H-B and my grandfather both finished their war together on 25th March 1918 [they were in the same 123 Bde] - H-B KIA and G'father severely wounded and taken prisoner) |
