Default ASC Gilding Metal / Brass Kings Crown Cap Badge With Long Lugs.

Although of OR's quality this badge has the long lugs that I associate with officer's badges.
Would it have long lugs for use on certain forms of headgear such as FSH or are they liable to be a manufacturers variation of no real significance?
(The badge shows no indication of ever having been plated).

As the badge was made before 1918 - ie when it became Royal, it might be a 'pagri' badge ? It might even pre-date 1916 when it was made as 'unpierced' (as Pattern 9076/1916) but these generally had sliders.

Thanks, I was wondering about it being a FSH badge.
I had an idea that I may have a photograph of the ASC badge worn above the pagri, so long lugs would make sense if they badge was actually fitted to the helmet, but having found the 1915 dated photo I see that the badge is fitted to the pagri. From it's positioning it could even be a slidered badge.
