Apparently US - But What?
Trying to identify this for a member of The Military Heraldry Society. The owner suggests the 13 stars might indicate a connection with one of the original colonies that later became states.
All suggestions welcome. Jon |

The mountains in the right hand half of the badge seem unlikely for one of the 13 rebel colonies, all of which were on or near the eastern seaboard of America. At least, I can't see the Alleghenies or Adirondacks being portrayed as such towering peaks. And if the bottom of that side is meant to be water, I'd go with a patriotic organization located in Washington, Oregon or CA.

My guess: New York Guard - guardsmans badge. New York State coat of arms. The stars representing the original thirteen colonies, with the Hudson river mountains and sun rising.
