Default Does anyone know what this is?

Hi there,
Does anyone know what these are? I seem to remember badges similar to these being worn by WRAF SNCO Aircrew on their 'blue tube' mess dress back in the 1970's although the badges include current specialisations that were not around then.

I am thinking that they could be some form of modern 'sweetheart' brooch.

To me it looks like Mess Dress, but I could be wrong. I thought most Mess Dress insignia was gold wire embroidered. It could possibly be worn with tropical kit I suppose.

I think it might be a Commonwealth air force, Australian maybe? I seem to remember one on the forum some time back.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi,

It's not a Royal Air Force item.

Its not RAF or issue as far as I'm aware. RAAF and RNZAF use similar, but they are crowned. Its just a vanity piece or sweetheart.

Thanks everyone for your quick replies which more or less confirmed what I thought that they are not issue (or Mess-Dress) items and I can now safely ignore them!!!!

Modern made sweetheart pin. As all the good collectors have already said where it was not issued and not in Canada either. I would pass on it.
