Le Regiment de Beauce
I have been meaning to post these pictures for some time. I took them this summer at the Museum for Le Regiment de la Chaudiere in Levis QC.
These are what I believe to be a voided officer issue Cap Badge and Collars for the Regiment. They were absolutely stunning and the quality of construction appeared excellent. Both Collars are similarly facing left...my belief is that there is a right facing collar but like the non-voided version the right facing collar is quite rare to find. In photographic evidence I have seen, it is only the Officers who are wearing the voided version and it is the OR's who are wearing the non-voided version. Without having seen the back to determine whether it is a slider or lugs...my guess for this one would be lugs. This is interesting given that most of the OR's I have seen have Sliders. As a side note, my OR's cap badge has lugs...but you can clearly make out where the Slider was originally attached, perhaps it was converted because of headdress requirements? Mike Kennelly

Thnks for showing I didn't realize there were voided for officer's badges... I managed to pick up an O/R set off of ebay back a few years ago but that was when you could usually get a bargin every couple of weeks. Now you have to look awfully hard to find something good and if you do there are 10 guys after it...
