ID Discs 1907
scan0008.jpgscan0010.jpg
Just added this as a point of interest for all of you serious 'regimental' collectors and it's a new one on me. Taken from Army Orders January 1907, it appears that this is when ID discs were officially taken into use while on active service and also regarded as an "article of clothing" and on transfer to the Reserve, were to be kept at the Regimental Depot. Been collecting for 50yrs and never had a one of these to the Northumberlands. |

Further to my last post it would appear that in May of the same year the initial AO9 was cancelled and a more detailed Order - AO102 - was issued in which all serving soldiers and Reservists would be issued with the new ID Discs. Also "thank you" to all those who found this post of interest and who showed their appreciation. |

Graham as an identity disc collector this is excellent information. Thank you for taking the trouble to post it.
