Default Display and storage

Hi guys, any recommendations for display and storage of formation signs? Im thinking eventually some ryker cases for the better items i want to display, but I'm stumped as to storage for everything else.
There has to be something better than cardboard folders and plastic sleeves(i wouldnt be adverse to this as long as itwas efficient). At present they are just stored in little sealed plastic sleeves, which wont be pratical in a years time as the quantity increases
Im open to any ideas

My album shows some of the methods I have used in storing and displaying my collection.

I use Ryker cases for my favorite patches and badges, and also frame those that are gracious gifts. You can see them scrolling through my first album, but the Ryker cases are mostly in he last pages as I started trying to do individual badges more recently. I also use a felt backing because with the foam backed material the foam breaks down over time and leaves a mess. I also try to use a color of felt that is associated with the unit being represented.

Hope this helps,

Terry

For my cloth badges I use selfmade mdf and pine trays with a self adhesive velvet liner. I use painters canvases for my cap badges.

Is your adhesive not sticking to patches and leaving traces ?
Also no glass to protect Cloth from moth bites ?

No, only the bottom is adhesive once you peel off the protective layer.

Cheers guys, the rykker cases are fairly expensive here in the uk, but they certainly look the part. I'll have a good look through the albums above and make a decision in the new year.
Thanks for the help guys

I use a Bisley cabinet. You can pick them up at a reasonable second hand price on eBay, but most are 'collection only', so wait for one not too far away so you can collect. Fifteen draw are the most common, mine is a 24 draw, and you can get 30, but they are scarce.

Default Storage

I use a 45l box now as originally I had them in storage crates until the moths started on them!
I mount them on different coloured cards which are. Cardboard backed. Blue -Regular, Green schools/cadets Yellow foreign/commonwealth etc. I make up a single or a double depending on the amount of insignia. All my cloth is sewn on

I'm sure I would select the wrong drawer 99 out of 100 times.

I use "Really Useful" 9ltr storage boxes , these can hold various sized trays or larger items and have a clip-top lid .

Each box can hold 4x15 compartment trays or 2 of the deeper 7 compartment trays.

Storage and displaying for me are two different concepts. Displaying I would certainly have them in a display frame, whilst storing could be any of the above ideas provided. Jeep's Bisley cabinet is lovely, but then again it boils down to price willing to pay, accessibility and space!

Best Wishes to all.

Here are a couple of mine. Wall mounted display minus frame (to avoid reflection)!

The cloth patches were carefully sawed on by placing a few holes on the plywood and threaded through them.
