"Old" Canadian badge...
Royal Rifles of Canada cast badge with screw posts. Pretty rough casting. Certainly not an original badge. http://cgi.ebay.com/OLD-CND-ROYAL-RI...item27bc724f55

I don't think it's that rough, or a repro. I had one of these and it was extremely bright and hard to photograph. Also weighed enough to knock out a charging buffalo. My guess was it was a 60s-70s badge, maybe officer's, but that was just a guess. Am attaching my old pix from when I flogged it.

Hi David, The unit was reduced to nil strength and put on the supplementary order of battle on Feb 22, 1965. As a rifles' regiment the OR's badges should be blackened and officers' badges silver. Both badges are cast. The gilt is not correct for rifles units. Screw posts are often an indication that the badge may be officers' or the badge may be for a buckle. I certainly don't find the detail crisp as a striking. The badge on offer appears to be less crisp that the example you show.

Hi Guys, I have a similar badge and it's an ugly one. The badges that I have in my collection are bronze, flat-backed with tangs (there's a pic in my King's Crown Album). I agree with you Bill re time frame. Maybe a cadet badge?
