Default 3rd Vol Btn Hampshire Regt Cap Badge

3rd Vol Btn Hampshire Regt Cap Badge. It looks Ok. Hard to compare against others as there are not many images of it on the Net.
it came in a Job lot of other Badges, most were genuine. I cannot find much info on the 3rd. Quite a bit about 1st, 4th, 6th, Etc.
Any info much appreciated

Be careful as it's been widely faked.

Here is it's lineage before and after it was 3rd VB: Infantry Volunteers: Hampshire - Isle of Wight

(And there never was a 6th Volunteer Battalion, The Hampshire Regiment))

I would not describe it as an original if I owned it.

Many thanks for the replies all.
No, pretty sure it is not original.
I have had advice from a well repected Badge Collector elewhere pointing out what to look for in fakes.
The points he mentioned on fakes unfortunately match mine.

Of course.
Blurred Reverse writing on Scroll.
Knife edge finish on bottom rim/edge of Scroll.
This one has very poor definition to reverse writing, so classing it as a copy.
Hope this helps.

Hi Simon.
I see you collect Manchester Regt Badges.
Thought you might like to see this one. Pre 1903. Lovely condition.
