Medal discovery
Good afternoon!
We live in Tacolneston, Norfolk and just had a skip arrive to clear out the barn of our 700 year old cottage. We found a rusty old cigarette tin with these little badges in. Can anyone help? |

WW1 British Army shoulder titles.
The most interesting is the KODR. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Edward%27s_Horse |

I can't see any. I can see two Gs that are probably from a Grenadier Guards shoulder title though.

The "G"s look a bit like crescents with the tips joined by a star.

You should report the find to the Portable Antiquities Scheme - your find is not over 300 years old so not not Treasure. Even iif it was - they do not take it away from you.
They just want to know where it was found - so that a database of eg military badges etc - for everyone to see our heritage, what is found here and there. Norfolk Historic Environment Service, Union House, Gressenhall, Norfolk, NR20 4DR Work T: 01362 869294 |

Medal discovery
Thank you! It was up on a tiny shelf, I feel sad that someone must have kept the box there for many years and knew where the badges where from, but then for some reason they were left.
