Default Unknown possibly unofficial cap badge.

I was going through some of my old posts on another forum and found this, which I posted many years ago. It was an interesting thread that was left unsolved.

I thought that as this is a more specialist forum, I would repost it here to see what your thought are.

The badge appears relatively small and looks to be a cat or possibly a fox cub.

Mike,

that was one of the suggestions on the G.W.F. but it is not the same badge. Omerod Nunn also has no obvious connection to East Yorkshire as he was born and lived in Acton, West London.

I suspect that the badge has no actual military significance and is probably a brooch that he is wearing for the photographer in lieu of an issued cap badge.

I must have been in the process of posting when you gave details of his service .

As Leigh has mentioned , he is wearing hospital blues , so it could just be a photgrapher's prop.

I would say a 'lucky black cat' pin badge/brooch.

Although I have no idea, a cat came to mind - wasn't the London Division flash a black cat?
