Default Wireman - Landing craft - finally found!

Well i was on the look for a wireman - landing craft badge for a memorial frame for my late grandfather.

Well today i found one! HIS one!

Whilst helping to sort a move of house for my grandmother I found his badge in with some old papers.

It has seen better days but then it is 60 years old!

Well done to you sam, and grandma.

(Might i advice that you keep it as it is, as it looks perfect with age)

I will be keeping it.

There is no amount of money that would persuade me to sell this.

I am glad you feel the badge is as important as it is. I hope it will always be kept in your family and held in as high regard by your descendants. Cheers.

Hen's teeth? Nice one, I like it when someone gets what they really want.

Epic thread revival!!

Found a second LC wireman trade badge. Still attached to part of his coveralls!!

Also a bad pic of the frame I made with his old badges and medals.

Very well done. Of course, you will now need a bigger frame for the 2nd one found. Remarkable find after all this time. You never know what else is lurking around.....

Super find! Looks really nice framed Sam.

Now is this his only medal entitlement? Being with Landing Craft suggests service on or after D-Day (6 Jun '45) on the coast of France, should he not have qualified for the France & Germany star?
