WW1 raf Russian blue prototype cuff rank
This is an interesting one that came in with some sealed pattern pieces both ww1 and ww2 , it’s on Russian blue material all I can think of is prototype rank insignia like the army’s cuff rank ! Thought I’d share a picture.

An interesting piece. Its the wrong material for the original light blue tunic which was a distinctly ribbed material, but could possibly be for the intended greatcoat? The most likely reason is the new Bandsman uniform which was introduced in early 1923. It had these embellishments on the cuffs.

Yes that could make sense on both counts , an unusual piece to find though for sure .

I suspect its a variation of these, the ones being worn seeming to be a single bullion edge, yours being three rows (possibly rejected?).

Again great photos to see yes I can see it could most likely be a prototype bandsman cuff .
