Thanks for that Peter, I have just seen a photo of Gen Plumer awarding a medal to a female Ambulance Driver on the Western Front and she appeared to have the same jacket as your photo and a head dress identical to the subject lady at the beginning of this thread.

Yes, it looks likely that she was a driver....but for who ?
