Question WWII Insignia

My late father who served inthe RAF during WWII 'liberated' a number of items which I discovered amongst his effects recently. A photo is attached, I wonder if anyone can identify them?

Many thanks

John

hi john,

the eagle badge looks like a officers eagle from a dress uniform.
the next one down looks like from a officers cap
the bottom one looks like a normal ss privates collar badge

the top one i think may be luftwaffe because of the eagle in the middle

im sure youll get more definitive answers from the more well informed on here as these are not really my area of collecting

hope this is a start any way

philip

You'll probably have better luck posting the same question on the Wehrmacht-Awards forum.

John, the medal is France Médaille de la Resistance.
The medal was created on 9 February 1943 by ordinance of the Comité National Français to recognise the ‘remarkable acts of faith and courage which, in France, in Europe and abroad contribute to the resistance of the French people against the enemy and his accomplices since 18 June 1940’. The date 18 June 1940 is that of the famous appeal by General de Gaulle to the French People. In all, some 48,000 medals were attributed by the Commission de la Médaille de la Résistance which alone had charge of the medals. It ceased to be awarded on 31 March 1947 except for deportees and the interned to whom it could be awarded posthumously.

Just had another look at the pic and the smallbadge is IMO a Greman Red Cross (upside down)lapel badge.

G’day John

Looks to me like top to bottom

Luftwaffe Silver bullion collar badge – Major Air Traffic Control

Waffen SS – Arm eagle

Luftwaffe aluminium NCO’s cockade from a visor cap

DRK (German Red Cross)

Waffen SS - OR’s collar badge

Cheers
John

The top one is a collar insignia for a Major in Luftwaffe Administration. (Luftwaffenbeamte) A lighter green was worn by ATC.
