Insignia worn over the career of a Colonial Police Officer
Some unusual items turn up in Durban, probably because it has long been a popular retirement spot for servicemen who saw service in the various Colonies.
One such was P E Garner. I attach some pics of some of the insignia gar1) Solomons Police car bumper badge. gar2a & b) Lesotho Mounted Police Meritorious Service names to Senior Superintendent P E Garner. Medal looks to be silver plated gar3a & b) Cross belt with silver Solomon Islands Police badge gar4) Message box. Probably standard to all Colonial Police forces gar5) Spiked pith helmet - I have high lighted the Solomon Island Police badge gar6) buttons as worn in the various police forces gar7) small badges Regards Mike |

Agreed a nice grouping. Must say I had never seen anything related to the Solomons Police before. Thanks for posting
