McGill COTC armbands?
I picked up these armbands recently, but I don't have any provenance on them. Does anyone have any information? They are flocked on felt. They are well made, with snaps that are consistent with the Second World War era manufacture. The MG armband is particularly interesting.

Bill,
I just received a copy of Chris Brooker's book "Canadian Officers Training Corps (with WW1 University Raised Units" which is an excellent reference work. He illustrates all the known badges and cloth, but does not mention your armbands. He does state that the McGill Contingent had coloured field service hats in 1943. Maybe these date from the same time frame? Might I suggest you sent a picture to Chris? I think he would be interested to see these. Geoff |

Hi Geoff, I had already checked Chris' COTC book. The WW2 era, while not as messy as WW1, is not well documented for cloth insignia. But, cloth is not well documented to begin with.
I will pass this on to Chris shortly. |
