Hi Mike,
do you have a reference book with a photo of the slouch hat badge as I always thought that the badge you are showing was it and the shoulder title was a simple CS?
I'm very interested to see the pic if you can show it.
thanks
Glenn.

Hi Glen.....

There was no slouch hat badge, they sometimes wore a Black Ostrich feather in their cap..... The Canadian Scouts was a shoulder badge but sometimes worn on the slouch hat though not officially..... The S over C was a collar badge again worn unofficially on the slouch hat.....

The new book on the Canadian Scouts, a Regimental History, which will be coming out towards the end of June early July has a number of photos of members wearing the badges as described..... Some are wearing the CS collars and some the standard Boer War Canadian Maple Leaf as a collar..... I tried to copy the photo but they were not of great quality, will be better in the book..... I am not primarily a badge collector but a Boer War collector who just happens to have the badges to match the medals and units in his collection.....

Mike

Hi Mike,
hey you have sparked my interest about that book as a number of New Zealanders were in this unit. Can you please let me know when this book comes out as I will put my name down for a copy.It is insainly hard to find details to these irregular units so this is exciting!

if you get bored of that shoulder title then please let me know!!
thanks
Glenn.
