Default New Member, Looking for some ID help

Greetings:

I found the forum while trying to research a swagger stick I picked up years ago at a military show.

Can someone please ID the regimental button on the end for me? WWII?

Also, a rough idea of value would be great. I bought it years ago when I was actively collecting militaria.

Thanks in advance.

Mitch

Just the sort of thing one needed to swan about in India!

Thank you for the information.

Any idea of the vintage?

It amazes me how these things get dispersed. I wish I knew the path it took to end up at a guns show in Northern California in the mid 70's.

Default More pictures per Magpie's request

The bullet tip measures out 7.9mm so I am assuming that it is a .303 British. It wobbles a bit on the single pin that is holding it to the cane, probably because the wood has probably shrunk with time.

Overall it is 25"long.

I didnt realise it was a homemade thing from a button and a bit of a bullet.

I would have to reduce my value to closer to £25.

Default Value and age?

Thanks again.

Looking back on the things I bought as a teenager, I really didn't have much focus to my collection. But I guess its better then other things a 15 year old could have spent money on. It had the same patina when I bought it in the 70's. I wonder if it was period made. Or, if some crafty person found a new use for his Grandfathers uniform buttons?

Still would be interested in a best guess on at least the age of the button.

Mitch

BTW you wouldn't know of anyone with some expertise in Trans-Jordanian Militaria?
