Mystery old film
OK-Huge shot in the dark- but does anyone know the name of a film in which a man is wounded/dying in the vicinity of a summerhouse (partialy destroyed?) with a weather vane, perhaps in France? Also a memory that there may have been a link to a relative or himself having been there in peace time? Vague childhood memory from the late sixties early seventies so I expect a black and white film. Regards, Paul

"The Longest Day", Richard Burton as the shot down RAF pilot, the German wearing boots on the wrong feet? Maybe, maybe not.

No Leigh. I've only seen the film I am trying to find a name for once (lost count for the longest day with the dead, crippled and lost!) It may be a D Day related film though but its also not D-Day 6th of June.
The fact that I've never come across it again even makes me wonder if its a memory of a dream! Regards, Paul. Last edited by wardog; 02-02-24 at 07:41 PM. |

There's a website called "Whirlpool", "What Was The Name of That Film?", might be worth a try to identify the film.

How about, ‘Went The Day Well’ 1942, German Paratroopers invade small southern English village or ‘Mrs Miniver’ 1942, again English village where she finds wounded German pilot in garden, great old propaganda films.

Thanks Ben. I know both of those great films but they are not the film from my memory. Regards, Paul.
