Can anyone steer me in the right direction to find out what this badge is ,who wore it and when?

Geographical Service of the Free French Forces.

This unit was in charge of establishing and drawings military maps. If genuine, a very hard to find badge. Congratulations !

Nothing that I can find on the history of the unit or images of its badge, but Google throws up 198,000 hits, mostly on mapping produced in the Magreb and Levant in the early 1940s.
