Rifle Brigade in Greece?
I recently acquired this 13th Division combination from Normandie 13 which nobody could identify. The lower badge must be a regimental flash and although the front is faded the back is clearly black and green, colours usually associated with the Rifle Brigade.
In the absence of a 13th Division Orbat does anyone have a wartime history of the regiment which might mention its presence with the Division in Greece circa 1945/46? There may be a reference in the annual Rifle Brigade Chronicle if anyone has the appropriate years. The most likely candidates are the regiment's 2nd and 7th Bns which both served in Italy and Austria. Can anyone shed some light please? Jon |

To me the band appears to be green and brown, ATS maybe?

Keith,
Thanks but definitely green and black on the back. Jon |

Here is another regimental flash from the same source, but less worn.
The back ribbon is not clearly black for me, but more brown, as Keith has said. Hope this helps. Unfortunately Jon I have found nothing interesting about 13th Div... Regards Normandie18 |

The 2nd and 7th batts were in Greece during the mutiny in 44 but cant find any mention of The Rifle Brigade with 13th Division.

Thanks for the posts which show quite conclusively that the edging to the ribbon is brown so perhaps it's back to the drawing board!

I originally wondered if it was 2nd Cameronians, but the brown edging instead of black is a bit of a puzzle.
