Federated Malay States Volunteer Force Signals
Can any body help me please.
I have attached two photos of badges of the Fedarated Malay States Volunteer Force Signals. One is a cap badge and the other is a shoulder title. Was there such a thing as a set of collar badges for the Signal Battalion of this force??????? With my kind regards Chris Walker www signalsbadges.co.uk |

G’day Chris
I have (somewhere) a Federated Malay States Volunteer Rifles cap badge and I’m sure I also (somewhere) have a pair of collar badges to go with it. So I would have thought there’s a good chance that the signals would have had the same. From memory they are a nickel tiger running over a brass scroll Cheers John |

FMSVF Signals collar badge
Dear John
Many thanks for the reply. The Volunteer Rifles were the start of the Volunteer Force. There were at least 4 Battalions. One in each of the 4 Feberated States. There would have been more than enough personnel to make it worth while producing collars. There was only one support Battalion of Signals in the Federated Malay Volunteer Force with a total of just 280 officers and men. Do not know if they would have made a collar badge for so few, hence my question. Having said that John they did make cap and shoulder badges for this small force so quite possibly there is a set of collars. Never seen them though. Many thanks for the reply Best wishes Chris Walker www.signalsbadges.co.uk |

I was actually sent a picture today that includes what appears to be a FMSVF Signals collar badge.
Thought this would interest you Chris. Its from a mate's collection. Mick
