Default Navy button?

Hi all,

Picked up this button from another forum member recently, and was hoping if anyone could help identify it. I think its a navy related item, but after that I'm not sure. The inscription reads industry and virtue.

Thanks,

Adam

Not sure what it is but it's nothing to do with the Royal Navy I'm afraid.

Corps of Commissionaires could be an interesting field, if you consider the countries in which they operate and the years they’ve been in operation. The changes in cloth pieces alone in Canada, along with hat badges is quite numerous in just the last 20 years! Regards, David J.

Further to my post above, If “Blue Car” is interested, Here’s the current Canadian button and some of the cloth from the last 20 years. Canadian division also differs in other provinces. I do not know if there are differences between English and Scottish divisions. Bare in mind that British Div. Is well over 100 years old, Canadian just about 100! Best regards, David J.

Hi David, those badges look great. Thanks for sharing and teaching me more about the hobby.

Many thanks,
