thanks guys
it just looked a bit flat/dull looking?
I suppose I was looking for a brighter gilt finish.
can I ask what these HP are selling for at the moment?
the plate has also been added to the blue cloth helmet as there are a couple of unmatched holes from the inside, but I suppose this often happened when the crowns of the HP changed or they changed rgts?
cheers

Thanks all for your replies.
Planning at some stage to offer it up here for trade for Aussie badges or sale.
Can anyone tell me what these Hp are going for on or off the blue cloth.
Cheers
Bc

hi all
i know ive already asked but here are a few extra concerns of mine,
as an officers badge i would have assumed a gilt plate but this looks brass
the POW plumes look brass? shouldnt they be silver/whitemetal?
the background behind the POW plumes looks brown. should it be brown?
thanks in advance

bc,

All issues that occur with old age, the plate is genuine.

The gilt has been polished off as has the silver plate, all going back to brass.

The central velvet would have been blue but sunlight has faded it to a brown colour.

An officers plate in good condition would be bright gilt and those are the only ones I would buy.

regards
