Default Reproduction 1878 Pattern Home Service Helmet

Exactly what it says, a modern version of the other ranks (round peak, four cloth panel) Home Service 1878 pattern helmet is out there commonly used by Cadet Bands, re-enactors of Victorian regiments etc. I only seem to find two people who offer them , Scarlett Gunner , and a website called Victorian Strollers (the latter , showing unavailable for a while now) I know one manufacturer ,I know who makes a version, Christys (if you want a whole box minimum !!!) Email response from the afore mentioned vendors is ....well...slow.
So if anybody here on the forum knows a source for ONE helmet I would be very appreciative. I need it to display an old set of (ball top, chinchain and fitting, and badge) from an early Garda (Irish Police) helmet. The original helmets were made by Hobson & Son, and was based on the same helmet worn by the Military.
It cannot be any smaller than a metric 58 ( 7 1/4)
In advance , thank you for you help,
Cheers....Tom
Heres a couple of photos showing these modern reproductions

PS.....I oviously don't need hardware or badge....only the helmet :-)

If you do an image search for the cadet bands the photos of various bands pop up wearing these helmets.Yes according to my research a copy of the 1878 pattern home service helmet is being reproduced, Christy's is definitely making some, I was in contact with them, but a minimum order is 6 helmets.

Heres a link to their website, under the business name of C.W. Headress

Default helmets

Thanks for the replies lads !
Well as they say feast or famine, I managed to pick up 2...on ebay ! One for £200 pristine REME, and one with no chain or badge £50. Mac, let me know what your asking for the one you have...and if possible what the circumference inside the head band (unless of course its size is marked on there !)....
Cheers....
Tom

Default Home service helmet

Hello, i am also looking for a home service helmet to purchase but there are some that are expensive, i was wondering if anyone has a spare that a fair price can become negotiated or if anyone knows where to get a surplus helmet from bands or something.
