Rifle regiments NCO’s boss badges
Attached photo is described as 6th Kings Liverpool’s ( Liverpool Rifles) I have my doubts but senior NCO’s of the Liverpool Irish did wear boss badges.
Anyone any thoughts on the wearing of boss badges by Senior NCO’s of Rifle Regiments/ Battalions? P.B.

Yes, I think WOs wore "officer's badges" = here a boss was 1908-14 - black. 1914-35 - khaki. 1935-37 - scarlet.
I know of at least (1st WW) Privates in the 8th (Irish) Bn who wore small bosses on their caps. Last edited by KLR; 12-07-21 at 07:13 PM. |
