Default MGC Cloth Badge

Any thoughts on this cloth MGC badge?

It looks like WW1 construction but looks a little 'clean'.

Many thanks, Ivan

The M doesn't look right to me ? Are the top 2 points on it level ? It might just be my eyes, it looks to clean to me. What about UV light ?

Not too worried about the letters being level, variation in these types of WW1 cloth badges is not unusual.

The construction looks good and yes it looks clean, hence my query.

Cheers

Ivan,

These are copies/reproductions being sold to the unsuspecting by a Lincolnshire dealer. They are copying desirable titles, RNAS AAC are also a favorite. Early on they caught a few people out even Robin McGregor briefly listed one then withdrew it once he was aware it was a fake.

Mark

It looks like WW1 construction but looks a little 'clean'.

Thanks Michael and Mark, I'll let the owner know.

I was suspicious of how clean and new it looks but the construction is very good and no doubt with time, these badges will look more convincing.

Someone certainly has put a lot of effort into making these and whenever I see such good copies, it just reinforces my decision long ago to concentrate on just one regiment!

Ivan
