TKS para badge
Hi All,
I have this TKS para badge. It was sold as a chromed white metal badge, but I am wondering if it is a 'new metal' badge, but in Chris marsh's excellent book, none shown with a maker mark. Can anyone advise ? Cheers, Mark |

Hi Mark,
Chrome is one of the 'New Metal' coverings applied over a base metal such as brass, nickle silver or gilding metal. Other covering materials include silver, nickle silver, gilt and, in some rare cases, gold. Some 'New Metal' cap badges are also chemically blackened while some early Guards officer badges were made of sterling silver. The piece you show is a modern 'New Metal', 100% genuine issue Parachute Regiment [All Ranks] cap badge. Regards, Chris Last edited by hagwalther; 26-05-21 at 09:37 AM. |

Mark, TKS new metal Parachute Regt in issue packaging- just for your interest.
The new metal badge is made by various makers, generally found stamped 'F&S', FIRMIN or as yours with TKS. Regards all Bess Last edited by bess55; 26-05-21 at 01:17 PM. |
