Default Lancashire Fusiliers

Nice photo of the LF dating from the 1920s/1930s.

The post-war 42nd TA Division retained the system of coloured identifying diamonds they had worn in WW1 so this is 7th Bn Lancashire Fusiliers in 125 Infantry Brigade of the division. The 7 is white the diamond red.

Any chance of a decent scan for my files please?

Excuse the odd question:

Would these camps have been exclusive to the Regiment/Battalion, if they were, who would the mounted soldiers in the background be?

Also have you noticed the height of the Corporal mid picture, he must be well over the average height of the time. a veritable giant.

Brian

Speaking of which:

Little and Large.jpg

John Cleese and Ronnie Corbett!

..."'I look up to him because he is upper class"
"but I look down on him because he is lower class..."

Bloke on the right was always the last to know when it was raining, too.

Bet I can guess which one the bivvy belongs to.
