A superb piece of Australian military history (in a Pom's opinion!). I hope that it remains untouched. l

What a superb item, wonderful piece of history.
May I have a close up of the Ayrshire Yeomanry cap badge please? And the back as well if possible. Many thanks for sharing this with us. Cheers Chris |

You're a star, thank you.
I'll compare it to my AY's later, see if it's a different pattern or not. I love seeing badges like this, actually worn by serving soldiers in WW1. Many thanks again Chris |

Nice looking belt, any idea why the buckle is the other way up to the badges.

Nice to the see the Leinsters variant with the Welsh regiment plumes instead of the correct ones.

it's a sign of disrespect showing logos / emblems upside-down so it was probably done to show the german buckle in a negative way

Hi,
Numeral "3" was possibly for 3rd (Darling Downs) Light Horse or 3rd (Port Curtis) Infantry. Cheers, John |
