Default Bullion badges

Hi all,

I acquired these bullion badges some time ago and have never identified them. The pair of flaming badges I assume are Royal Artillery related. I believe the Garter one may denote a Guards Regt. As for the Epaulettes I have not got a clue.

The measurements:

RA = 43mm tall
Garter = 33mm tall
Epaulettes = 97mm long

All of the badges are brighter than that shown in the images.

If anyone can come up with a positive identification I would be really appreciative. My interest in collecting is RAF associated insignia so what may be obvious to many is a mystery to me.

Regards

Graham

The grenades are for the Royal Artillery Officers Mess Dress Jacket 1902-1913.

The gorget patches were worn in Diplomatic Uniform and other such Civil appointments.

The bullion Garter Star is the type worn as a rank pip by officers of the Coldstream Guards and I think Household Cavalry.

Default Bullion Badge identification

Hi all,

Many thanks for the replies. All 3 badges I listed have now been covered.

There is just a bit of doubt in my mind concerning one badge.

Regarding the Garter Star. I think there is no doubt it is an Coldstream Guards item. But since my initial query I have since seen this identified as a Officer Beret badge from another source. This badge had the same dimensions (33mm at its widest).

Can anyone give me a definitive answer whether this is a rank pip or beret badge?

Thanks again.

Regards Graham

100% a rank pip for the Household Brigade.

Agree with Simon, Rank Star.

Simon.
