Strange Little 7th Manchester Regiment (?) badge
I picked up this one this week, an Ebay find, I went for it as it was more ornate than the normal "Ardwick" fleur-de-lys (KK1746). Shown next to an extruded slider example (almost defo c.WW1), it is probably 2/3 the size and very detailed! My thoughts are either a Senior NCO's badge or not 7th Manchesters at all?
I thought at first that the slider was a replacement however it looks original but possibly shortened (maybe a pagri badge?).. Any thoughts please guys? Andy |

Attached is an article from The Kingsman magazine on the fleur de Lys badges worn by the Manchesters, but I cannot seem to see anything quite like that badge.
( The numbering in the photo seems at variance with the key below ) P.B.

There was an arm badge worn by the Oxon. Yeo. that was very similar..... but that had the the Queens cypher on it as well I think? Worn "on" the "V" of the chevrons I believe?

The copy of the article I posted also appeared in the MHS Bulletin where it appears the numbering to the badge illustration was corrected ( see below )
I also understand that the Lincolshire Imperial Yeomary had a wire embroidered fleur de lys arm badge as shown in Crown Imperial No 93 Winter 1998 ( first photo ) P.B.
