Default Canadian Armoured Corps tunic....

What is wrong with this offering?

My apologies to Phil and Rob. I had posted the thread twice, and trying to clean that up I inadvertently deleted the threads. Both of their posts indicated that the rank stars are the wrong colour. They should be yellow backed not red.

Now the listing is gone. Somebody must have told the vendor, or the vendor is a member of the forum.
Is anybody aware of dealers who belong to the forum and troll it for information without contributing or offering items to the forum members?

This one works. The tunic is still for sale.

Hi Phil, It may have been cutting and pasting the message that lost the active link. Sometimes truncated urls don't work.
Your point about dealers trolling is well taken. One would hope that the benefit of the knowledge gathered on this and other Forums, would be reciprocated in some way. I don't believe that vendor is a member here.

It seems that most of the uniforms offered by the vendor have odd things about them.

Next thing you know he's invented an owner and is sewing tags in the tunic and selling it as a "named" tunic with service records.

If this is the fellow I think it is, he's a younger kid out of Lethbridge that I've run across at a couple of local shows in Calgary. My impression is that he is a nice enough guy, but really not too knowledgeable. It's entirely feasible he's acquired some of these questionable items 'as is' as opposed to putting them together. Kinder thoughts, anyways.

I don't think there is a Lethbridge connection to this at all.... I think the vendor is a powerhouse CEF collector out of Calgary and that usually he has a unique selection of some pretty rare stuff for sale... the Forum might be a little hasty with the tar brush on this vendor but that being said it's always prudent to be cautious...

I was just entering a similar message to Tanker Mike. The CEF fellow in Calgary, if it is the one who has published the big book on the CEF, is not the vendor.
