Hi

For your viewing pleasure:

The 2nd King Edward's Horse filled out the 1st Canadian Mounted Brigade (Royal Canadian Dragoons, Lord Strathcona's Horse and Royal Canadian Horse Artillery) in the UK and F&F from Jan 1915 to Jan 1916 when they were replaced by the Fort Garry Horse.

Technically a British Regiment consisting mainly of ex-pat Cdns and other Colonial types from the London area, they served with distinction in the trenches, dismounted, as part of what was sometimes called "Seely's Detachment" after their Brigade Commander, Colonel The Right Honorable J.E.B. Seely.

The Brigade was later called 1st Canadian Cavalry Brigade but since there were no others raised they were commonly just called the Canadian Cavalry Brigade or CCB.

regards
Darrell

Hi Darrell, I missed this post entirely. For those who collect CEF, this is a badge which should be included in the collection.
